The City of Longmont has been advised that the Boulder County Treasurer’s office will be shutting down the DHB Networks retail Wi-Fi operation here in Longmont due to nonpayment of taxes.
Due to this situation in addition to nonpayment of billed utility services, DHB has not fulfilled its contractual obligations with the City of Longmont. As a result, the City will be terminating contracts with DHB and invoking a license agreement that will enable the City to operate the Wi-Fi system for City operational purposes. This licensing agreement was developed to ensure the continuity of potentially critical municipal services if the private service provider were to default as has happened.
