Boulder County commissioners unanimously agreed Monday to ask voters to approve a property tax increase in November to backfill losses in state funding. The measure would increase the county’s mill levy by 0.9 mills, which would equal about $21 more per year on a residential property worth $300,000.

It’s a family affair every day at one of Longmont’s oldest funeral homes.
More than 50 years ago the Ahlberg family began the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory with the mission to provide services compassionately while helping people find a way to grieve.
“We’re on the front line of helping people with their loss,” said Randall Ahlberg, the son of Rodney and Carrine Ahlberg, who started the business in 1958.

In March, the city issued a permit for the one-day Christian musical festival to set up camp at Union Reservoir. According to the Worship and Word Movement, organizers of the festival, the event could draw as many as 30,000 people.
