Jones announces run for House District 12
Former state representative and current open-space planner Matt Jones announced that he would run for state representative in Colorado House District 12, which includes Louisville, Lafayette and south Longmont.
The seat is currently held by term-limited Paul Weismann, who will co-chair Jones’ campaign with Boulder County Commissioner Cindy Domenico.
“Matt Jones is a leader with the experience, ideas, compassion and judgment we need to create good jobs, secure affordable health care and preserve our environmental values. He will be a great representative for House District 12,” Domenico said last week.
Jones, a two-time cancer survivor, said his priority will be “to create economic opportunity and security for area families.” If elected, he said he would focus on “creating renewable energy jobs, reforming health care and fighting for K-12 and higher education.”
He served previously as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from Adams County, 1987 to 1993.
