Pueblo East 59, Longmont 52: Trojan boys fall short of state finals

The Longmont High School boys basketball team fell one game short of reaching the state finals, losing 59-52 to Pueblo East Thursday night. The Trojans finish their season at 24-3.
Pueblo East will meet Sierra in the 4A championship game at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Coors Events Center in Boulder.

Longmont, seeded first in the Ron Shavlik Region, held off a feisty Pueblo Central squad 63-54 on Friday night in the quarterfinals at the Colorado School of Mines. The Trojans (24-2) advance to face Pueblo East (24-1) in the semifinals at Coors on Thursday.
